Our Background
The Association evolved from what was known as the Wilmslow Park Frontagers Association. It is a loosely formed Association with no formal constitution and made up entirely of volunteer residents. In recent times, most development has been in cul-de-sacs served by the private road. It is something of an oddity that most of the side roads are Local Authority maintained whereas the primary responsibility for maintaining the only access road rests with those whose houses front onto it. The number of dwellings on the private road is 45. By contrast, there are approximately 215 dwellings on the side roads. The obvious iniquity of 210 homeowners having to drive over a privately maintained road in order to gain access to their properties gave rise to the Wilmslow Park Road Users Association. It exists primarily to raise funds from all residents to maintain the private road. The private road is governed by a legally enforceable Prohibition of Entry Order. Signs to this effect are displayed at both ends of the road
